Special Announcement from the Lorita Leung Dance Association Concerning the Chinese Dance Syllabus

发布于 2015年12月13日

Beginning September 1, 2008, the BC Ministry of Education will award Chinese Dance Syllabus students with a total of 12 credits to meet their fine arts and/or applied skills graduation requirement.

These credits are awarded upon successful completion of the Chinese Dance Syllabus as follows:

  • 4 credits for completing CDES 7 at the high school Grade 10 level,
  • 4 credits for completing CDES 8 at the high school Grade 11 level, and
  • 4 credits for completing CDES 9 at the high school Grade 12 level.

This is indeed good news, and allows Syllabus students to earn even more credits toward their high school graduation. Prospective students with no dance experience should enroll in the Syllabus at an early age to ensure that they can reach the CDES 7 level by the time they are in high school grade 7. Students with dance background (ballet or Chinese dance) can be streamed into the Syllabus program depending on experience.
