The North American Chinese Dance Competition was held every two years. The 12th competition held in North Vancouver, BC, Canada on Sunday May 16, 2010 was the last.

The following Dance Types were recognized at the Competition:

1. Chinese Folk Dance
2. Chinese Classical Dance
3. Chinese Minority / Character Dance
4. Modern Chinese Dance (Modern dance movements and choreography blended with Chinese Dance)
5. Chinese Recreational Dance (Any characteristically Chinese movement, choreographed to Chinese style music)
